CASN Distinguished Scientist Award (DSA) is given annually to an individual of Chinese heritage, who have made outstanding and sustained scientific contributions to the discipline of nephrology. The DSA represents the highest honor that CASN can bestow to an established investigator and recognizes her/his contributions that profoundly advance the science of renal medicine. The award includes recognition by a plaque, a monetary prize of $1000, and a life-time CASN membership. The recipient of this award will present the award lecture at the CASN annual meeting. CASN Young Investigator Award
The CASN Young Investigator Award (YIA) is given annually to an individual of Chinese heritage with an outstanding record of achievement and creativity in basic or patient-oriented research related to the function and/or diseases of the kidney. This award is limited to individuals who are less than 45 years of age on the first day of the CASN meeting at which the award is presented or who are less than 6 years from the start of their first faculty or staff research scientist position beyond postdoctoral training. The award includes recognition by a plaque, a monetary prize of $500, and a life-time CASN membership. The recipient of this award will present the award lecture at the CASN annual meeting. Please send in a letter of recommendation with an updated CV of the nominee to: york.pei@uhn.ca.
CASN Outstanding Trainee Award
This award is given annually to an outstanding trainee investigator of Chinese heritage in basic or patient-oriented research related to the function and/or diseases of the kidney. Trainees include all investigators in training such as postdoctoral fellows, students, and research fellows. Selection criteria include an excellent publication record in the last 5 years and other related achievements including fellowships. The award includes recognition by a plaque and a monetary prize of $200. Please send in a letter of recommendation with an updated CV of the nominee to: york.pei@uhn.ca.
The deadline for 2024 awards nomination is September 20th, 2024. CASN awards will be presented at the CASN annual meeting in November 2024.
